Biography
Jennifer Calivas is an artist and educator who works in photography, video and performance. She uses humour and the uncanny to talk about her personal experiences living in a female body and about the broader history of the subjugation of the female body and the natural environment.
In 2018, she earned her MFA in Photography from The Yale School of Art where she was awarded the Ward Chaney Memorial Prize in performance. In 2016 she was a participant at The Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Her work has been shown at David Zwirner in New York City and LTD Los Angeles. She is currently a lecturer in photography at Princeton University. Calivas lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
