Biography
Tristan Pigott’s practice incorporates both painting and sculpture. Saturating his still life paintings with various visual references, Pigott’s work treads the line between realism and the surreal. Interested in exploring the ego and the relationship between inner and outward realities, Pigott’s paintings are imbued with uneasy tensions. The unnerving nature of his compositions are offset however, by his playfully comical juxtaposition of objects, people and animals.
Pigott, born in 1990, holds an MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art, and has exhibited his work internationally, in London, Nigeria and New York. His work has also featured in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2015. Pigott currently lives and works in London.
