The Beauty of Lines presents a selection of masterpieces from the history of photography, part of the collection of Sondra Gilman and Celso Gonzalez-Falla. Based in New York, it includes over 1500 original prints by some of the greatest photographers of the 20th and 21st centuries. The exhibition explores photographers’ fascination with the line in photography and their formal experimentation with straight, curved and oblique lines.
The exhibition features works by masters of the medium such as Berenice Abbott and Walker Evans, as well as contemporary photographers including Lee Friedlander, Abelardo Morell and Cig Harvey.
The Beauty of Lines runs until 6 May 2018 at Musée de l’Elysée, Lausanne.
