A Field Guide to Residencies: Ella Walker in Conversation
On Sunday 12 January Ella Walker will join Aindrea Emelife and Tim Ralston at the Mall Galleries for A Field Guide to Residencies: a panel discussion on the subject of artist residency programmes and their importance in the careers of emerging artists.
Walker studied at the Glasgow School of Art, graduating in 2015, and at the Royal Drawing School as part of their postgraduate programme, The Drawing Year. Upon graduating in 2018, Walker was also awarded the Richard Ford Award, which gives young figurative artists support to study at the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid. Walker completed the award in September 2019, before joining the Palazzo Monti x Great Women Artist residency in Brescia, Italy in November 2019.
The event is part of a series of talks running alongside the exhibition FBA Futures 2020: the UK’s largest annual survey of emerging contemporary figurative art. Walker will be joined by Aindrea Emelife, who co-founded PLOP, a London-based residency, and Tim Ralston, co-founder of PADA residency in Lisbon.
The panel will take place at the Mall Galleries, London, from 2pm on 12 January 2020. Please note that entry to this event will require a ticket, which can be purchased from the Mall Galleries website.
