‘Vivian Maier: In Color’ at the Chicago History Museum
The Chicago History Museum has opened a new Vivian Maier exhibition this May, showcasing never before seen works by the world-renowned photographer. Vivian Maier: In Color features a finely-curated selection of the artist’s 100,000-image strong repertoire.
The Chicago History Museum acquired 1,800 colour slides, negatives and transparencies from a Chicago-based art collector, mostly depicting people and scenes within the city from the 1950s through to the 1970s. The exhibition will present 65 colour images alongside film clips, quotations, and sound bites.
