Marin Majić

Marin Majić takes for his subjects real or imagined visions of the world, before transforming and abstracting them, provoking a viewer’s imagination through subtle implications of form or narrative. His textured paintings, which incorporate various materials, consider themes of isolation, intimacy and power.

Born in Frankfurt (b. 1979), Majić studied at the Academy of Visual Arts, Zagreb, Croatia. His work has been exhibited internationally including in London, New York, Amsterdam, Mumbai and Los Angeles. Majić’s paintings can also be found in the collection of Knoxville Museum of Art, Knoxville, and X Museum, Beijing. Majić lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
