‘Swaps: Photographs from the David Hurn Collection of Photography’ to exhibit rare works by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Bruce Davidson, Martin Parr and more

The Magnum photographer David Hurn recently gifted his expansive collection of photographs to the National Museum of Wales.

This donation includes approximately 1500 of his own photographs and 700 photographs from his private collection. These photographs were swapped with other Magnum photographers throughout the course of his career such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Elliott Erwitt, Bruce Davidson, Bill Brandt, Eve Arnold and Martin Parr.

National Museum Cardiff will exhibit a selection of these photographs in the exhibition Swaps: Photographs from the David Hurn collection of Photography from September 30 2017 – 15 April 2018.
