Biography
Jane Hayes Greenwood’s work draws from a wide range of sources, balancing dominant and outsider histories, sciences, and manuscripts to explore themes of desire, fertility, and mortality. Imbued with a dreamlike quality, Greenwood weaves together complex narratives through her exploration of plants, food, ecology, anthropology and the physicality of living bodies.
Hayes Greenwood received a BA (2011) and a MA (2015) in Fine Art from the City & Guilds of London Art School. She has been the recipient of numerous awards, such as the Haworth Trust Award (2011), the Arts Council England Grants for the Arts (2017), the Jerwood Bursary (2019), the Palazzo Monti x ACS Residency, and the COLAB Body & Place (2025). Greenwood has exhibited globally in the United Kingdom, Germany, China, France, Belgium, and Greece, among others. Jane Hayes Greenwood lives and works in London.
