Biography
Lee Sujin isolates scenes from films, particularly horror, responding to what she feels is an uncertain and unpredictable reality. Particularly fascinated by the familiar out of context, Lee often takes inspiration of scenes of blades or flames. Many of her compositions hold an inextricable sinister quality that invites audiences to project their own anxieties and fears.
Lee Sujin was born in South Korea in 1983. She studied Fine Arts at Kookmin University, Seoul, receiving her BFA in 2010 and her MFA in 2014. She has exhibited work throughout Korea, including several solo exhibitions in Seoul, where she lives and works.
